Stavro,
I have been reading this blog for the past year. At one point I made an attempt to write, then I gave up. Don't ask why. This time I noticed you had been to Poli in the summer. We don't know each other, but I know your theio-Ilia (I hope he is still alive) and I knew well your pappou Panayioti. In my youth he was more in charge of his "Alaska" restaurant than the grocery store, which was run by a kirio Dimitro. My father, known as Manol Berber to the locals had his shop diagonally across from the grocery. I have also spent a whole life in the USA and visited Poli in October. It would be nice if we could make contact with each other. Would you please write to me? I don't have your email address to write to you directly.
